The following letter arrived at the OnMilwaukee.com editorial offices today:

Dear editor,

My school-age class at Grandma's House wants to share some of their thoughts with you. They think that there isn't enough action being taken to stop people from littering.

Litter has affected these kids in a lot of ways. The nearby park is filled with garbage and is not a healthy environment for our children to play. Also, the river down the street is brown and the wildlife is completely gone.

My students think that we need to strictly enforce our littering laws and have more officers watching over our parks. They also think we ned more garbage and recyclable containers placed out. Please help to raise more awareness to this problem so that we can play and live in a healthy environment.

Thank you.
