In May, OMC reported that Milwaukee band The Good Luck Joes just released its sophomore effort, "What Do You Think of that Noise?," and was gearing up for a Summerfest performance ("Good Luck Joes finding there's truth in a name").

Now the band has reached the national level.

ABC's new Thursday show "6 Degrees" (airing on at 9 p.m.), features the song "Middle of Me" off that album for the show's television promos. If you've ever played six degrees of separation -- and not just the Keanu Reeves version -- you know that many people can be linked through six other people. "6 Degrees" has six New Yorkers going about their business without realizing that they will have a profound affect on one another. This show comes from the producers of "Lost" and the defunct "Alias."

The Good Luck Joes have two tour dates coming up: A performance on Sept. 28 on the University of Wisconsin-Steven's Point campus at Debot Field at 8 p.m. with Scourge of the Sea and on Sept. 30, the band hits the Mad Planet stage at 9:30 p.m. for a 21 and over show with Tommy Keene and Stall.

Originally from Des Plaines, Ill., Heather moved to Milwaukee to earn a B.A. in journalism from Marquette University. With a tongue-twisting last name like Leszczewicz, it's best to go into a career where people don't need to say your name often.

However, she's still sticking to some of her Illinoisan ways (she won't reform when it comes to things like pop, water fountain or ATM), though she's grown to enjoy her time in the Brew City.

Although her journalism career is still budding, Heather has had the chance for some once-in-a-lifetime interviews with celebrities like actor Vince Vaughn and actress Charlize Theron, director Cameron Crowe and singers Ben Kweller and Isaac Hanson of '90s brother boy band Hanson.

Heather's a self-proclaimed workaholic but loves her entertainment. She's a real television and movie fanatic, book nerd, music junkie, coffee addict and pop culture aficionado.
