I've been holding onto this for several days because Black Friday marks the official beginning of Christmas season and it's totally OK now to break out the classic Christmas albums by Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Death Row Records and those Time-Life or Now compilation albums.
It's also time for the release of some brand new Christmas music, and Milwaukee's Gerald Walker is here to satisfy that need with some fresh, original Holiday season tunes.
Through cultural hub DJBooth.net, Walker has released "It's Christmastime Again, Gerald Walker," which features personal tales from Walker's past in addition to his beliefs about the season.
The EP features immaculate production by Cardo, Chemist, RMB Justice and Slot-A, and Walker's sing-song/rap style is perfect for not only the tunes but the subject matter.
You can grab the EP from DJBooth.net here.
Born in Milwaukee and raised in the Milwaukee suburb of Brown Deer, Concordia University Wisconsin alumnus Poppe has spent the majority of his life in or around the city and county of Milwaukee.
As an advocate of Milwaukee's hip-hop community Poppe began popular local music blog Milwaukee UP in March 2010. Check out the archived entries here.
Though heavy on the hip-hop, Poppe writes about other genres of music and occasionally about food, culture or sports, and is always ready to show his pride in Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
