Emerging artist Lana Salameh is a graduate of UWM's Architecture and Urban Planning program who, after working in her field of expertise for several years, decided to commit herself entirely to her fine art.

"I really wanted to take my passion for art and creating seriously," says Salameh. "And so I did."

Salameh's colorful paintings are inspired by memories, humans, dreams (both bad and good), an anxious mind, patterns and light.

"My style is constantly evolving and changing, but always reverts back to my passion towards colors and finding balance in this world. I am continuously experimenting with different methods and techniques to achieve my art and where I use the brush to guide me through the chaos and grit," she says.

Like it has for so many artists, the coronavirus pandemic has deeply affected Salameh's creative process and ability to reach potential customers.

"It is most definitely hard to sell art and stay creative during a quarantine," says Salameh. "But I hope people can find some inspiration and comfort in my work to guide them through these times."
