The Final Four is finally here
Big timers this time of year
The Badgers are hot
And they’ve got a good shot
For prize that’s so very dear.

March Madness, it really is nuts
Upsets? No ifs, ands or buts
Some favorites die
Some underdogs fly
Lose and they call you a putz.

Your bracket has fallen apart
You might just have thrown a dart
Hardly anyone’s left
Of hope you’re bereft
You can just tear that pick sheet apart.

But eternal doth always spring hope
As that trophy you try to grope
So very exclusive
And very elusive
Lose and it’s so hard to cope.

Let’s look at this final four
Before they take to the floor
UW’s under the gun
'Cause Kentucky is one
And perfection knocks on their door.

They’re big and they jump and the run
Wear you down until you are done
A true juggernaut
And nobody ought
To think that this game will be fun.

A war it will be, just you wait
Thoroughbreds wait at the gate
or the ball to be tossed
Nobody’s yet lost
And we each await our own fate.

All Kentucky player’s a star
In the lottery they all should go far
Blue bloods – the best
Unbeaten’s their quest
But now they are in for a war.

Wisconsin comes mightily armed
Their shooting is verily warmed
Wildcats beware
The 3-pointer is there
And it seems to be specially charmed.

Frank the Tank is the best in the game
For himself he’s making a name
The Wildcats must stop him
Nobody one can top him
He will certainly broaden his fame.

But he’s not the only star who’s around
Decker, Koenig and Hayes can rebound
They can shoot it as well
And defend really swell
Till you’re ground down into the ground.

But there’s really one reason we know
Why the Badgers will win this big show
It’s the old man at the top
Nobody can stop
The coach we who all know as Bo.

With a history in Milwaukee stretching back decades, Dave tries to bring a unique perspective to his writing, whether it's sports, politics, theater or any other issue.

He's seen Milwaukee grow, suffer pangs of growth, strive for success and has been involved in many efforts to both shape and re-shape the city. He's a happy man, now that he's quit playing golf, and enjoys music, his children and grandchildren and the myriad of sports in this state. He loves great food and hates bullies and people who think they are smarter than everyone else.

This whole Internet thing continues to baffle him, but he's willing to play the game as long as OnMilwaukee.com keeps lending him a helping hand. He is constantly amazed that just a few dedicated people can provide so much news and information to a hungry public.

Despite some opinions to the contrary, Dave likes most stuff. But he is a skeptic who constantly wonders about the world around him. So many questions, so few answers.
