Satiate your sweet tooth while supporting a good cause by supporting the Bake for Ukraine, a bake sale headed up by local bakers which supports the Ukraine's fight for sovereignty.
#BakeforUkraine is an international effort to "Make cookies, not war." As one of the world's largest exporters of wheat, Ukraine is truly the bread basket of the world, which makes this benefit particularly meaningful for bakers.
All participating bakers are donating all of their time and ingredients, so 100% of the proceeds from this sale benefits the World Central Kitchen and Save the Children.

How to order
Folks can pre-order their baked goods for pick-up on either Thursday, April 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lakefront Brewery, 1872 N. Commerce St.; OR Saturday, April 9 between noon and 3 p.m. at Art Bar, 722 E. Burleigh St.
To place your order, use the online order form to choose your items and indicate your pick-up time. Paments will be completed through Venmo (@BakeforUkraineMKE).
All items are $5 each, with a limit of 12 pieces of any given item. Don't need sweets? Make a donation. Just choose: Tip for Ukraine ($20) when you check out.

Lori is an avid cook whose accrual of condiments and spices is rivaled only by her cookbook collection. Her passion for the culinary industry was birthed while balancing A&W root beer mugs as a teenage carhop, fed by insatiable curiosity and fueled by the people whose stories entwine with every dish. Lori is the author of two books: the "Wisconsin Field to Fork" cookbook and "Milwaukee Food". Her work has garnered journalism awards from entities including the Milwaukee Press Club. In 2024, Lori was honored with a "Top 20 Women in Hospitality to Watch" award by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association.
When she’s not eating, photographing food, writing or planning for TV and radio spots, you’ll find Lori seeking out adventures with her husband Paul, traveling, cooking, reading, learning, snuggling with her cats and looking for ways to make a difference.
