Today's chicagotribune.com provides some solid Brett Favre retirement coverage, including a poll with 61 percent of readers saying "he'll be missed."

Even columnist Rick Morrissey writes, "The NFL became a colder place Tuesday with word of Favre's retirement. Chicago even might have dropped a degree or two in response." Even stronger, Morrisey continues with, "He was what Chicagoans want in their athletes."

David Haugh provides a nice "retirement timeline," and Brian Urlacher calls Favre "the best ever."

One columnist, though, thinks Brett will be back. Steve Rosenbloom blogs, "I'm thinking this is a move to force the Packers into getting him another receiver or make some big off-season move. I'm also thinking he could be pulling a Strahan -- just looking to get out of some training camp stuff and / or off-season team activities."

He continues, saying, "but if Favre stays retired, this is bad news for the Bears" because Bears coach Lovie Smith "owned him." Touche.
