BEAUTIFICA – a 360-degree “journey through worlds real and imagined, from mind blowing particle fields to unashamedly euphoric fantastic environments almost impossible to describe – comes to Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium, S14 W28167 Madison St., Waukesha, in October.

The family-friendly show – suitable for ages 6 and up – has sold more than a half-million tickets in more than 30 cities around the globe.

The show – a full-dome production with 3-D animated visuals and 7.1 surround sound – was created by artist James Hood, who is known for his work on a unique instrument called the PanART hang. He has also played drums for The Pretenders and has spent more than two decades working in ambient and electronica music.

You purchase tickets for shows on four Fridays: Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, 10 and 17. Tickets and more information are available at the website.

More dates are expected to be announced soon. To stay up to date on that information, visit tickets.beautifica.show/waukesha.

Just a little warning from the show’s website, “There are no strobe lights used in the production but there are some fast image and light transitions, so we would advise caution for those who suffer from seizures. Equally, while the vast majority of our patrons have an amazing time with no issues, a small minority who are very susceptible to motion sickness find immersive entertainment slightly uncomfortable, so we would advise caution if you fall into this camp.”
