Hamburger Mary's

Cathedral Square may have the painted crosswalk, but for the third straight year, it's Walker's Point that claims the city's best LGBTQ bar: Hamburger Mary's.

The South Side hot spot, located at 730 S. 5th St. after moving from Bay View in late 2016, is known throughout the city for its delectable burgers and extra helping of sass! Hamburger Mary's isn't just a bar and grill; it's a full experience.

The former La Perla space has transformed into a multi-faceted entertainment venue; whether you want to grab a bite to eat or catch one of its famous drag shows, the whole family is in for a fun time! The restaurant and bar's dining area hosts a stage with regularly occurring events like "Mary-Oke" and "Dining With the Divas" sure to leave you bursting with laughter. Just make sure to check your bill served up in a large colorful heel.

Have a gamer in the family? Walk past countless leg lamps and star cut outs to the Beercade section of the building, holding a craft beer bar and numerous arcade machines. Hamburger Mary's fits so much into its cozy corner on 5th Street.

Our editor's pick also calls Walker's Point its home: the aptly named Walker's Pint, always a comforting place to hang at the bar or, if you're lucky, putt your way through a strategically-placed mini golf course.
