Believe it not, for as popular as day drinking is in Milwaukee, this category has not been a part of the OnMilwaukee.com Best of Bars voting since The Nomad won in 2009.

Barnacle Bud's won the category for Best Day Drinking for obvious reasons. Located at 1955 S. Hilbert St., there are few places in the city that, on a warm, summer, weekend afternoon, beat sitting out on the edge of the river, drinking a beer and listening to the pluckings of Jimmi T. 

Many say that Barnacle Bud's patio "feels like Florida" and, whether or not that is true, the seclusion, proximity to water and overall good vibe definitely give it an "on vacation" feel.

The OnMilwaukee.com editorial staff felt the readers got it right, choosing to imbibe in the daylight hours at Barnacle Bud's, as well.
