For the fourth consecutive year, Balzac Wine Bar, located at 1716 N. Arlington Place (just off Brady Street), has been voted as the best bar in the city to take a first date.

The small plate menu and affordable prices all around continue to make this bar an attractive option for those looking for good food, but not something too over the top for that first dalliance in a burgeoning romance.

What also helps its cause is that Balzac is also home to the city’s best wine list (as voted by you!) and the cozy tables against the back wall and dim, candle lit atmosphere is a comfortable one to have a "get to know you," private, conversation.

Balzac once again won over Bryant’s, which has been runner-up the last three years and is closing the gap. The Editor’s here at OnMilwaukee.com agree – Balzac is a great environment to take a first date.
