Recently, Mahdi Muhammad – who is a Registered Nurse and often goes by the moniker "Nurse Mahdi" – created a new brand of grab-and-go drinking water called BKlear.

BKlear is an alkaline water with the pH of 9+ which means it could lower blood sugar, improve gut health and increase hydration in the body. It's also packaged in 100 percent recycled aluminum bottles.

"The container prevents the seepage of toxins – which happens with plastic," says Muhammad. "I invented it to help disease and illness prevention by way of feeding the body what it needs and help encourage conversation around prevention through nutrition."

BKlear is available at Funky Fresh Spring Rolls, Confectionately Yours and Vibez located in the Sherman Phoenix. It can also be purchased at Alice's Garden Urban Farm.

Muhammad also sells the product by going door to door.

BKlear's mission is not only to provide health to the body, but also to entire communities, particularly communities with residents of color that are hurting and healing.

"This water represents every child I’ve spoke to in detention centers, every life that's been lost to senseless murders and the community trying to hold on after," says Muhammad. "This water represents growth. It represents strength to all, from Franklin to 2nd and Keefe. I’m praying to instill self control, self love, community improvement, entrepreneurship and the tearing down of negative stereotypes. And my water just tastes really good."
