BMW's new advertising spot, "Hello Future" toasts the German automobile company's i8 plug-in concept and models.  It also salutes Milwaukee with a prominent placement of the opening of the Burke Brise Soleil at the Milwaukee Art Museum.  It's been online for a while and got its broadcast TV debut during the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics Friday evening.

"Hello Future" is directed by former Milwaukeean Grant Simpson.  It uses the words of inventor, futurist and author Arthur C. Clarke, "The only thing we can be sure of about the future is that it will be absolutely fantastic."

During NBC's broadcast of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, BMW is officially launching the brand campaign for the BMW i brand with its largest media investment of the year. BMW purchased NBC's foreign automotive advertising category during their broadcast of Sochi 2014 and will be debuting three new BMW i spots including "Hello Future," "SHHH," featuring the BMW i3; and "Sightings," featuring the BMW i8. BMW will also air digital shorts throughout the Games appearing at NBCOlympics.com.

BMW i is a concept for sustainable mobility and represents the company's electric vehicles including the BMW i3, the first all-electric vehicle made primarily of carbon fiber and the BMW i8, a plug-in hybrid, high-performance electric vehicle. The BMW i3 and BMW i8 go on-sale in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2014.

Several companies, including Porsche, have used the Milwaukee Art Museum as a backdrop in advertisements.
