April showers bring May flowers – and the opening day date for Boerner Botanical Gardens, as the floral park will bloom once again to the public beginning on Saturday, May 1.

Starting on opening day, Boerner Botanical Gardens will feature a dozen formal gardens – including tulip displays blooming just in time for visitors. Special events, such as educational sessions and garden walks guided by The Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens, will also be available in a limited number to start the season.

Found at 9400 Boerner Dr. in Hales Corners, Boerner Botanical Gardens will open at 8 a.m. daily and stay open until 7 p.m. The indoor visitors center will also open daily from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., with masks required inside, and the gift shop will open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays.

Tickets cost $8 for adults, $6 for children five and older (kids under 5 are free) and $5 for students. Plus, if you're a Milwaukee County resident, don't forget your ID for a bonus discount.

For more information, visit Boerner Botanical Gardens' website. Now get out there and smell the roses!

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
