According to U.S. Census Bureau data, in 2013, 14.7 million children in the U.S. lived in poverty. That's approximately 20 percent.

Scary, isn't it?

The hunger statistics that go along with that data is just as grim. In 2013, estimates suggest that up to 49.1 million Americans live in food insecure households, including 33.3 million adults and 15.8 million children.

But, Sprecher Brewing Company, in collaboration with Hunger Task Force Milwaukee, is trying to encourage people to say "boo!" to hunger and change those scary statistics.

During the month of October, Sprecher will have a Hunger Task Force collection bin in its gift shop lobby at the brewing company, located at  701 W. Glendale Ave.

The best part is, when you make a donation of nutritious non-perishable items at Sprecher Brewing Company during the month of October, you'll get a free brewery tour coupon ($5 value) as well as the satisfaction that comes with assisting in alleviating hunger in Milwaukee.

Buy one/get one tour coupons will be available for any donation of three or more non-perishable food items all month long.
