Another Mliwaukee-area Bruegger’s is closing its doors. This time, it’s the Audubon Court location, and according to employees there, its final day is Dec. 10.
The Downtown Bruegger’s on Mason and Water Streets closed a year ago. Its location on North Avenue closed several years ago, too. An employee at the store said that some of the employees may be reassigned to a different location.
The Burlington, Vermont-based bagel company operates approximately 280 stores in 26 states. In the Milwaukee area, the Whitefish Bay and Wauwatosa stores remain open.
This summer, Bruegger’s was purchased by JAB Holding Company, which owns Caribou Coffee. JAB also purchased Einstein Brothers Bagels in 2014, and those rebranded Caribou/Einstein bagel shops are the closest bagel chains to the Bruegger’s Audubon Court location, in Mequon and Shorewood.
