Texas-based travel center chain, Buc-ee's, will soon open its first Wisconsin location in Oak Creek and social media users are all over the news.
If approved, the location will be on the southwest corner of I-94 and Elm Road. The 73,370-square-foot Buc-ee's will feature 120 gas pumps with ethanol-free fuel, diesel and EV charging stations.
Once in operation, it will employ approximately 175 full-time employees across three shifts. The site spans 29 acres, with seven acres of green space and a retention pond.
Buc-ee's Oak Creek aims to open in 2027, pending approvals from local government. The Oak Creek Planning Commission will discuss rezoning for the project at its Jan. 28 meeting. Two public hearings are scheduled for Monday, Feb. 17, and Tuesday, March 18.
