Following their road win over Houston in the beginning of the year, the Bucks hosted the Rockets for a cross-conference matchup on a Tuesday night. With a sold-out crowd in attendance, the fans and cameras were focused on the league’s two frontrunners for the MVP race: Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden.

The matchup perhaps wasn’t as advertised, with both superstars putting up relatively modest stat lines, but the playoff atmosphere in Milwaukee made the evening worth watching in person – and the W didn’t hurt things either.

Here is our breakdown of the Bucks’ 108-94 win over the Houston Rockets by the numbers:

14: The number of Rockets wins in the past 17 games since the All Star break

While no team has been hotter than Milwaukee all year, no team (even the Bucks) has been as hot as Houston following the All Star game in Charlotte. The Rockets look to be the epitome of "it’s not how you start; it’s how you finish," and if it’s not the Warriors coming out of the Western Conference this postseason, everyone’s money is on James Harden and the Houston Rockets.

4: The number of games Houston trails the Golden State Warriors for the top spot in the Western Conference

The seeding battle in the West is especially tight right now with just a few weeks left in the regular season. While the Rockets are only four games behind the Warriors for the number one seed after Tuesday’s loss, Houston is also only four games ahead of the San Antonio Spurs for the eighth and final seed in the West. With so many seeding scenarios still likely, Houston had every reason to steal a win in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

3: The Bucks’ magic number after Tuesday night’s victory

With wins from both Milwaukee and the two seed Toronto Raptors, the Bucks’ magic number for home court advantage throughout the entire NBA playoffs is now just three. Coach Budenholzer and the Bucks now need just a combination of three Bucks wins or Raptors losses to secure the top seed in the league. Once that spot is secured, the Bucks can shift their focus on the playoffs, as well as keeping their roster healthy.

117.4: Points per game this season

Milwaukee leads the entire league with 117.4 points per game on the year – more than 10 points greater than their total last season. Their huge offensive surge wasn’t expected by many (at least not to this extent) and it’s a big reason the Bucks have dominated the league in the wins column. With the high-scoring James Harden in town, it was crucial that Milwaukee bring their all offensive – and they did just that, putting up 108 points for the night.

26: James Harden’s number of shot attempts against the Bucks

James Harden is the NBA’s leading scorer and it isn’t close. The Beard is averaging 36.4 ppg while the next closest player, Paul George, is only averaging 28.2. But while Harden has put up some monster point totals all season long, it’s not because the guy doesn’t miss; rather it's because he has more than 200 shot attempts than any other player in the league. For Tuesday night’s matchup, Harden added to his 1,733 shots on the year with 26 attempts against Milwaukee, only cashing in on nine of those attempts and shooting just 1-for-9 from three-point range.

19: Giannis’ point total against Houston

The Greek Freak played a big role in the Bucks’ 116-109 win against the Rockets in Houston two months ago, putting up 27 points and 21 rebounds. And although his numbers were deflated when compared to the teams’ January matchup, Giannis still managed to put up 19 points with 14 rebounds and a good shooting percentage, leading the Bucks to victory.

1: The number of MVPs who will be announced this summer

There can only be one! While James Harden and Giannis are both having MVP-caliber seasons, only one will bring home the hardware this summer. While The Beard leads the league with an impressive 36.2 ppg, as well as 7.5 assists per game and 6.5 rebounds per game, the Greek Freak also sits near the top of the league in ppg (27.3) but with a much higher shooting percentage and an impressive 12.6 rebounds per game. So to no one's surprise, all eyes were on Harden and Giannis on Tuesday. However, while last night’s matchup was just one game, both players had relatively modest performances. But Giannis ultimately got the best of Harden with the win and slightly better stats after Harden’s rough night shooting.

Oklahoma City’s Paul George has had an amazing year and is currently the third favorite behind Giannis and Harden for the MVP title. But unless the two favorites perform horribly to finish their seasons, the distance both have created in the MVP race make it very unlikely that George or anyone not named James or Giannis will win the award. Right now it’s somewhat of a toss up whether Harden or the Greek Freak will be 2019’s MVP, but chances are the next MVP was on the court at Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night.

2: Bucks wins over Houston this season

The Bucks have struggled against the Houston Rockets over the past few years, but as you know, Milwaukee has improved drastically as of late. With Tuesday night’s win, the Bucks completed the season sweep of the Western Conference squad and are a perfect two-for-two against Houston for the season. A lot has to go in favor of Milwaukee and Houston, but last night’s game just may be a preview of this year’s NBA Finals.

23: The number of points from Eric Bledsoe on Tuesday

MVP chants rang through the sold-out arena while Giannis took free throws in the fourth quarter, but the game’s MVP was actually Eric Bledsoe. Not only did Bledsoe lead all scorers with 23 points, his clutch factor was on another level. The Kentucky-alum was on fire and his three-pointers served as daggers to keep the Rockets at bay. Houston, you have a problem – and on Tuesday, he wore the number 6.

17,910: Tuesday night’s attendance

Milwaukee came out in large numbers to cheer on their Bucks for the weekday matchup. The sold-out crowd loved every minute of the Bucks’ blowout win and the sixth man was in full force last night. The playoff environment is good practice for the coming months so Giannis and company can benefit from their home court advantage.

9.5: The Bucks’ league-leading point differential

Milwaukee combines the best of both worlds with their top ranked defense and third ranked offense. Currently Milwaukee owns a 9.5 point differential, while the next closest team (Golden State) sits at about half of that number. The Bucks added to this statistic with a 14-point +/- on Tuesday.

7: Games left in the season

After taking care of business at home, the Bucks have just seven games left in the regular season. Without a complete collapse, the Bucks will easily get the number one overall seed and can focus on resting the roster and allowing players to come back from their injuries at the right pace. Don’t expect Coach Budenholzer to let the team get into the habit of losing, but you may see a change in pace to close out the regular season.

60: A milestone win total

With 56 wins on the year, the Milwaukee Bucks are only four wins away from the 60-win milestone. If the Bucks can finish the year with a 4-3 record or better, Milwaukee will reach 60 wins for the first time since the 1980-81 season. 60 wins means nothing, though, when the Giannis-led Bucks have their eyes on a championship.
