’Tis Dining Month, the tastiest time of year! This means we’re dishing up fun and fascinating food content throughout October. Dig in, Milwaukee! OnMilwaukee Dining Month is served up by Educators Credit Union and Potawatomi Casino Hotel

After nearly eight years, C-Viche in Bay View will be closing its doors.

Longtime manger Madalynn Krystowiak confirmed by phone that the restaurant, which opened at 2165 S. Kinickinnic Ave. in January of 2016, will observe its last service on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Customers are invited to stop in for a meal in the days before closing. All are also invited to a farewell champagne toast, which will take place on Oct. 22 at 9 p.m.

"It's been a good run," Krystowiak notes. "Almost eight years. Times have been hard with the seafood prices fluctuating. But we are trusting the process."

Our conversation with Krystowiak supplements a message shared this afternoon on social media, which announced the closing and noted that current Bay View staff will be relocating to the C-Viche at 4330 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood.

"We would like to thank every one of our beautiful customers for supporting us and creating such an amazing family over the last few years," the social media post read. "We hope to see you all before then. This is not even a goodbye. Just a see you soon over in Shorewood."
