I've heard of cheeseheads – but this is ridiculous.
Before Thursday night's concert, Fiserv Forum greeted country star Carrie Underwood with a special gift that only Wisconsin could dream up: a replica bust of the singer from the "Cry Pretty Tour 360" promotional art, carved out of a block of cheddar cheese.
The idea? Delicious. The execution? Devilish.
The @fiservforum outdid themselves tonight! This is me...carved into a 40 lb block of Wisconsin cheese in honor of our show here in Milwaukee! I’m speechless!!! 🧀 #CryPrettyTour360 #WheresTheWine pic.twitter.com/zC4IVQzP1w — Carrie Underwood (@carrieunderwood) June 20, 2019
Cheeses, take the wheel.
Now, putting the jokes aside, this is a pretty impressive curd creation. The only thing we can carve into a block of cheese is our teethmarks, so applause is deserved for this artwork that truly must be seen to be brie-lieved. That being said ... there seems to be an excess of forehead here, right? And THOSE EYES. They see into my soul! Computer, zoom in on the eyes.
Well, that's my nightmare for the next ... well, entire life. If I was backstage, I would feel very nervous cutting into and snacking on this potential Muenster monster.
Judging by her tweet, however, the actual Carrie Underwood clearly dug the edible art – before she likely dug into it. And she returned the favor to the Fiserv Forum crowd, serving up an impressive two-hour musical main course. The only thing missing? A name. Car-brie Underwood? Colby Underwood? Carrie Underwheel of Cheese? Go to work, Wisconsin.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
