Chef Dan Jacobs, co-owner of Dandan, is scheduled to show off his true cooking chops as he competes for a chance to one-up three-time James Beard honoree and Iron Chef Bobby Flay on the Food Network series "Beat Bobby Flay."

The new episode, which will pit Jacobs and Chef Tony Nguyen of Crustacean in Beverly Hills against Flay, is scheduled to air on August 16 at 9 p.m. CST.

Entitled "You're Masa-ing With Me!,"  the episode promises steep competition as Food Network's Jet Tila and Chef Carla Hall plot their sweet revenge against Flay by bringing in Asian food specialists to "dodge Bobby's curveballs and take home a win."

The premise of the longtime show, which launched in 2013, is simple. Each half-hour episode begins with a competition between two chefs and Flay, each creating a meal using a featured ingredient chosen by Flay.

The winner, chosen by two judges (in this episode, Jet Tila and Chef Carla Hall), goes on to compete for the ultimate win against Flay. But, strategy is key. In order to win, they must choose a dish they can execute well – and, more importantly – better than Flay himself. Three guest judges (in this case, Tracy Jane Young, Helen Nguyen and Dan Churchill) determine the winner.

Will Jacobs make it to the final round? You’ll just have to watch and see.

"You're Masa-ing With Me!" will air on the Food Network Aug. 16 at 9 p.m. CST.
