It was not amazing that the Brewers lost to the Rockies Monday night at Coors Field.

The shocker was that the game was contested in 2 hours, 6 minutes.

During his weekly segment -- "Tuesdays with 'Rillo" -- on "The D-List," which airs on Milwaukee's ESPN Radio 1510 Days / 1290 Nights, Brewers infielder Jeff Cirillo was asked if he experienced many quick games during his two-year stint with the Rockies.

His answer was surprising. Here is a transcript:

Jeff Cirillo:  "It's a different Coors Field"

Drew Olson:  "It is?  Why, because of the humidor?"

JC:  "Ah, the balls are illegal"

DO:  "You think?  What's the matter with them?"

JC:  I will bring you home a ball for you from Coors Field and I will show you. It's all spongy and it's big and it's waterlogged.  They're illegal baseballs. They are non-flying baseballs."

The numbers seem to agree. Heading into the series this week, teams at Coors Field were averaging 1.90 home runs per game, which ranked 25th in the majors. That is down considerably from previous levels. In 2002, Coors Field allowed 2.86 homers per game, which ranked second in the majors behind The Ballpark in Arlington. In 2003, Coors Field ranked third in the amjors (2.84 homers per game). In 2004, the total was 2.73 homers per game (fourth) and in 2005, the total of 2.10 homers tied Coors Field for 15th.

Cirillo went on to say: "The thing is it can lead to some shady stuff going on, like two sets of baseballs.  You know, say their team is down late in the game, you know, here are some new baseballs.  (Because) the team is the one that governs the baseballs. say their team is down late in the game, well, here is the next batch of baseballs coming in and they're not that ones that were in the humidor."

"Tuesday's with 'Rillo airs every Tuesday at 10:30am during the D-List with Drew Olson, Dan Needles, and Bill Johnson on Milwaukee's ESPN Radio 1510
days / 1290 nights and Madison's Fox Sports Radio (100.5 FM).
