This past November, OnMilwaukee reported on a new store called Kujichagulia Producers Cooperative located inside the Sherman Phoenix building, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave, Suite 103.

Kujichagulia – which is the second of the seven principles of Kwanzaa and means "self determination" in Swahili – now offers a monthly box in conjunction with Alice's Garden Urban Farm and Indigo Thyme.

Twenty additional local businesses from the cooperative will also contribute products to the boxes, such as candles, jewelry, snacks, condiments, seasonings, art, cards, journals, clothing, teas and more. Each box will also include a product that's exclusive to box subscribers only.

This first box is available through the Alice's Garden website until Friday, Jan. 8. Boxes can be picked up or delivered, with the shipping and handling fee used to add more merchandise to your box.

To order, go here. To stay informed about the boxes and more, "like" the Facebook page.

"My goal is to help people do what they love and bring their dreams and visions to fruition, whether it's in the form of gardening or business or whatever it may be," says Venice Williams, founder.
