Starting today, Kohl's will sell a line of T-shirts created by local printer and business owner, Rachaad Howard. The designs promote diversity and inclusion concepts that were inspired after the murder of George Floyd in May.

"After the George Floyd killing, we took our retail side to the next level to start speaking out against social injustice," says Howard.

Fifty Kohl's stores nationwide will sell the shirts, including the Bayshore location. They are also available online and at Howard's shop, Cream City Print Lounge, 8010 W. National Ave. The shirts are $20 and available in adult and child sizes. The messages include "Enough Is Enough," "Kids for Justice" and "Peace, Love and Equality."

Howard opened Cream City Print Lounge, the first "print and sip" lounge in Milwaukee, last fall. The print shop and bar offer custom bulk printing services for schools, businesses, clubs and groups of all kinds. Prior to the pandemic, Howard also hosted public events that combined socializing and art-making. Today, only private parties take place in the space.

Howard was connected with the Kohl's Corporation through a friend.

"When I got the call I was so excited for the opportunity to provide shirts to anyone who wants to speak their mind about social injustice or social change," says Howard.

Howard was born and raised in Milwaukee. He attended Milwaukee Madison and Vincent high schools and later received a degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Wisconsin. He has been printing T-shirts for a decade.

"Cream City Print Lounge mission is to create a culture of expression through T-shirts, which are the biggest form of expression and can not be silenced," says Howard.
