Visually stunning with intricate blossoms. Fragrant, medicinal and persnickety. Some even say they bring good luck.
Orchids!
Check out these colorful, exotic flowering plants this weekend at the annual Wisconsin Orchid Society Show and Sale at the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory. (AKA "the Domes.")
When is the orchid show at the Domes?
Now in its 44th year, the Wisconsin Orchid Society Show, "Fall in Love with Orchids," will return to the lobby of the Domes on Saturday, Sept. 13, and Sunday. Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The show is free with a Domes admission and to members of the Milwaukee Domes Alliance.
In addition to the many orchids on display, the event includes educational demonstrations about the conservation and care of orchids. Plus, orchids, books and potting materials will be on sale in the lobby.
The Wisconsin Orchid Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation, cultivation, appreciation, improvement and promotion of orchids and orchid growing.
Let's explore the great indoors!
