The holiday season is unlike any other, a time when giving feels particularly good.

In-person volunteering is an option this season, but for those who want to stay home there are oodles of donation opportunities as well. So figure out how much time and / or money you have to give, and get in on the feel-goodness that comes from spreading good fortune to all.

Here are some groups in need to consider:

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is collecting monetary donations to buy meals for families. Even $1 makes a difference. Go here to find out more about the program and how you can help spread kindness during this often-unkind year.

FOX6 Coats for Kids

FOX6 Coats for Kids is back, taking coat donations through Dec. 6. All sizes are needed for adults and children. Go here for more information.

Hope House
The Hope House, a food and shelter facility for Milwaukee’s homeless population, is looking for volunteers for holiday gift and food drives again this year, as well as donations. Click here to get all the deets on how to be a helper.

Hunger Task Force

Hunger Task Force is hosting a “Turkey Ticker Challenge” again this year. Just $15 buys a festive turkey for a family in need. Go here for more info about the Turkey Ticker and other ways to donate to this integral organization.

OnMilwaukee’s "Santa Baby Holiday Diaper Drive"

One in three Milwaukee families struggle to afford enough diapers to keep their baby clean, dry, and healthy. Thanks to the Milwaukee Diaper Mission and their partners, this statistic is improving. And now, you can help, too, via the Santa Baby Holiday Diaper Drive sponsored by OnMilwaukee, B93.3 and FM102/1. Go here to help.

United Way

The United Way needs volunteers for holiday meals on Wheels, drive-thru turkey dinner giveaways and more. They have adjusted their processes because of COVID-19 and for the safety of their volunteers. Go here for all of the volunteer options this season.

The United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County also has a Holiday Giving Tree that is in need of donations.

Wisconsin Red Cross

The Red Cross has numerous online ways to give gifts, greetings and / or donations for the holidays. Go here to find out what works best for you.
