It’s time to get your last pasta fix at the Wauwatosa location for Egg & Flour Pasta Bar.

The location, tucked just inside the Metcalfe’s Market at 6700 W. State St. will be closing in the weeks ahead, likely by early February.

Like many businesses, Egg & Flour faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, including rising costs, slower than expected sales numbers and both labor and supply chain challenges. As a result, Chef Adam Pawlak says it was time to take a pause and scale back operations.

“At this point, my goal is to take care of my staff and make sure that they can move on to other opportunities,” says Pawlak, noting that the exact closing date will be announced on Egg & Flour's social media.

“We’re very thankful for all of the support and family-like atmosphere of working with Kevin and Tim Metcalfe,” he says. “I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity that this partnership provided and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

“For now, I’ll be refocusing my energy on the Egg & Flour locations in Bay View and the East Side,” he adds, adding that customers are likely to see him on premise more often at both restaurants. “I’m also looking forward to engaging in some other projects I’ve had in the works.”
