As a prelude to the October 17 opening of an Albert Einstein exhibit at the Chicago Field Museum, Professor Hanoch Gutfreund, an internationally recognized scientist and an inspiring speaker, will give a special presentation on Einstein's impact on science and modern technology at MSOE.
The talk is scheduled for Tues., July 29 at 7 p.m. in the Milwaukee School of Engineering's Alumni Partnership Center (1120 N. Broadway). The Milwaukee Chapter of the American Friends of Hebrew University (AFHU) will sponsor the event.
Gutfreund is the former president of Hebrew University, founded in the '20s by Einstein, along with Sigmund Freud, Martin Buber and others. Einstein later willed intellectual documents to the university, which made the Field Museum exhibit possible.
Professor Gutfreund is also the chairman of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem's worldwide exhibitions on Albert Einstein and the Andre Aisenstadt Chair in Theoretical Physics. His research interests include theoretical solid state physics and computational neuroscience.
