Wantable has announced that it will transition the operations of its Walker’s Point cafe, 123 E. Walker St., to Experience Milwaukee, the team behind the beloved local media brand that celebrates all things Milwaukee.
Tucked back in the throes of the city’s burgeoning Harbor District, this modern industrial cafe got its start as an on-premises spiff for Wantable employees. But the well-appointed cafe has now become among the most well-equipped workspaces in the area and a destination for coffee lovers, entrepreneurs and the local community to connect.
"Partnering with Experience Milwaukee is an exciting way for us to broaden our impact and reaffirm our commitment to Milwaukee’s entrepreneurial spirit," notes Jalem Getz, founder and CEO of Wantable. "Their strong ties to the city and genuine passion for community make them the ideal partner to help our café evolve into something even more meaningful for our neighborhood, our team, and Milwaukee as a whole. We’re not just investing in a business, we’re investing in people, in community, and in purpose."
Under Experience Milwaukee’s purview, the cafe will continue to serve its signature coffee offerings while the owners further explore meaningful ways to evolve the overall experience and strengthen its position as Milwaukee’s hub for coffee, connection and coworking. The goal is to creat a space fueled by community and creativity.
“This opportunity came together quickly because it’s the perfect fit,” said Steve Glynn, founder of Experience Milwaukee. “The Wantable Cafe is a place where people gather not just for coffee, but for conversation, ideas and inspiration. We’re excited to bring a fresh perspective and build on this momentum alongside our community.”
The change in leadership is slated to take place beginning May 1. For updates, follow @WantableCafe and @EXPMKE on social media or visit wantablecafe.com or experiencemilwaukee.com
