Fall Experiment is upon us, plugging in and booting up for two action-packed and information-packed days, Oct. 4-5, at the Wisconsin Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave. The weekend of technology, gaming, music and art includes a full slate of events, including impressive keynote speakers, star-studded concerts, thrilling gaming experiences for experts and noobs, a glimpse at the industry's future with entrepreneur pitch competitions, cutting-edge technology and more.

So yeah, that's a lot to navigate. Thankfully Fall X helps make things easy by organizing its plethora of activities and excitement into tracks, seven categories ranging from hardcore tech talk to gaming, the business of entrepreneurship to the beauty of music. The tracks make it easy to follow what you're most interested in at Fall X – but there's also plenty of overlap to send you exploring in directions you may never have expected.

Here is the list of tracks coming to Fall X:

Cream City Code

A collaboration with Cream City Code has resulted in a two-day developer conference that aims to draw developers of all experience levels to dig deep into new ideas for collaboration, coding and more.

Radio Milwaukee's Tarik Moody calls it Milwaukee’s larges developers conference.

Keynote speakers include Kim Crayton – "Hey! What About Me?: How To Manage Heterogeneous Groups While Minimizing Harm" – and Nickolas Means – "The Original Skunk Works."

Longplay

Longplay focuses on the culture of esports and gaming and looks not only at the current landscape, but also gazes out into the future, bringing together not only gamers but industry folks and developers. The goal, as always, is collaboration and learning, but also fun.

The goal here, says Moody, is to "celebrate the inclusive culture of video games and esports."

There will be games to play, but also tournaments, workshops, expert panel discussions and opportunities to meet those folks who create your favorite games.

Speakers include, video game composer and sound designer Chase Bethea and Capitol Music Group VP of Business Development Joshua Remsberg – "The Future of Music in Gaming and Sports" – Milwaukee VA Assistive Technology Program Director Katie Schultz, DPT, APT – "Contemporary State of Gaming" – and Jennifer Tonge, co-founder of Sugargamers – "Diversity and Representation in Gaming and Esports."

ProductCon

Are you intrigued by the intersection of business, technology and user experience? If so, ProductCon is for you. In addition to an Alpha Bar, where you can use technology to test product ideas and hear feedback, there will be speakers from the Midwest and beyond who will talk about startups and emerging technologies.

"Here you can check out some of the most innovative products and learn about how they were made," Moody says.

If you're hoping to break into the industry, there will also be chances to make connections that could help land you a job.

Featured speakers include ACLU Product Manager Winston Ford – "Galvanizing People to Take Action Through Product" – and Amazon Web Services Head of Data Protection Nancy Wang – "Anything You Can Build, We Can Build Better."

Startup

Fall Experiment offers entrepreneurs access to area and regional venture capitalists via Fall X PITCH, a national pitch competition, 83 Tech Harbor Reverse Pitch Challenge, investor office hours and gBETA's Pitch Night. Winning startups can win serious cash investments.

"Come see some of the region's must promising up and coming tech businesses and learn what it takes to start your own startup," says Moody, "plus find out which startup will win the pitch competitions."

Xperiential

Interact, discover and tinker with new innovations that merge tech and art. From both regional and national imagineers, various technologies will be showcased through activations that range from virtual reality experiences to augmented reality painting.

Speakers include NWA co-founder Arabian Prince, and The Brimful Life founder and owner Beth Ridley.

There will also be a gig by Steve Aoki on Oct. 5.

This track will, says, Moody, "allow you to explore the the merging of tech and art in new ways."

Xtras

Xtras are some of the most exciting moments of Fall Experiment. Keynote speakers talking about the gig economy and artificial intelligence, high-energy DJ sets and a performance by Steve Aoki? Oh yeah, these Xtras are anything but afterthoughts.

Some Xtras include: industry leader and celebrity presentations, live podcasts, an immersive STEM experience, and a national college student-run business competition. Also, Kim Crayton, founder of #causeascene, will speak on "Hey! What About Me?" How to Manage Hetereogeneous Groups While Minimizing Harm."
