The Great Milwaukee Summer is HERE! Your guide to what you'll be doing, where you'll be drinking, who you'll be hearing and how you'll be getting a sweet tan this summer is on OnMilwaukee. The Great Milwaukee Summer guide is brought to you by Geis Garage Doors and Peoples State Bank

There's simply nothing better than a farmers market in Wisconsin.

It's the perfect opportunity for local growers to show off their goods, while consumers get a refreshing break from strolling the aisles in the supermarket. Throw in some live music, crafts, fresh flowers and a gentle breeze and you've got yourself a homegrown good time.

SNAP, WIC & Senior vouchers

A growing number of farmers markets across Milwaukee accept federal nutrition benefits such as SNAP, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers.

At participating markets, customers with SNAP can swipe their Quest cards at the market info booth to receive farmers market currency that can be spent at individual vendor stands. The WIC and Senior vouchers can be used directly at vendor stands for Wisconsin grown produce.

Milwaukee Market Match

Users can also double their SNAP (EBT, FoodShare) dollars up to $60 per person per day at markets in Milwaukee County with Milwaukee Market Match.  Using MKE Match coupons, SNAP participants can purchase a variety of food items at farmers markets including fresh vegetables and herbs, meats, eggs, dairy products and honey. More information, including a map of eligible locations, can be found at
