The Great Milwaukee Summer is HERE! Your guide to what you'll be doing, where you'll be drinking, who you'll be hearing and how you'll be getting a sweet tan this summer is on OnMilwaukee. The Great Milwaukee Summer guide is brought to you by Educators Credit Union and Harley-Davidson Museum.
There's simply nothing better than a farmers market in Wisconsin.
It's the perfect opportunity for local growers to show off their goods, while consumers get a refreshing break from strolling the aisles in the supermarket. Throw in some live music, crafts, fresh flowers and a gentle breeze and you've got yourself a homegrown good time.
SNAP, WIC & Senior vouchers
A growing number of farmers markets across Milwaukee accept federal nutrition benefits such as SNAP, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers. The Milwaukee Farmers Market Coalition, facilitated by Fondy Food Center and FoodWIse, publishes a printable list of markets that accept benefits (updates are available no later than June each year), as well as an interactive map of locations.
At participating markets, customers with SNAP can swipe their Quest cards at the market info booth to receive farmers market currency that can be spent at individual vendor stands. The WIC and Senior vouchers can be used directly at vendor stands for Wisconsin grown produce.
Area Markets to Support
We will update this listing of area markets as information becomes available. If you manage a farmer's market and have updates, or would like to add your farmer's market to this list, please email all necessary details (including market name, address, contact information, operational dates and hours) to lori@staff.onmilwaukee.com
As always, opening dates and hours are subject to change without notice, so please double check market details before attending.

Lori is an avid cook whose accrual of condiments and spices is rivaled only by her cookbook collection. Her passion for the culinary industry was birthed while balancing A&W root beer mugs as a teenage carhop, fed by insatiable curiosity and fueled by the people whose stories entwine with each and every dish. She’s had the privilege of chronicling these tales via numerous media, including OnMilwaukee and in her book “Milwaukee Food.” Her work has garnered journalism awards from entities including the Milwaukee Press Club.
When she’s not eating, photographing food, writing or recording the FoodCrush podcast, you’ll find Lori seeking out adventures with her husband Paul, traveling, cooking, reading, learning, snuggling with her cats and looking for ways to make a difference.
