Milwaukee has been chosen as the location of the second Fine Furnishings Show, modeled after the one in Providence, which is slated for Sept. 23 and 24, 2006 at the Midwest Airlines Center.
The two-day show will feature exhibitors who design and handcraft extraordinary custom furniture in a wide variety of styles and materials, plus artisans who design and handcraft home accessories and fine art. With over 150 exhibits by artisans from across North America, visitors can meet the creators face to face, learn about their design process, and buy direct. Thousands of products including furniture, rugs, quilts, lamps, mirrors, paintings and sculpture will on display.
The new show has already received endorsement of The Furniture Society, a non-profit organization founded in 1996 to support the creation of fine studio furniture that is produced in a small shop environment, rather than a large factory. President Miguel Gomez-Ibanez recently said, "The Fine Furnishings Providence has become one of the best venues in New England for studio furniture makers. I am excited about the prospect of extending your reach to the Midwest with a show in Milwaukee, and will recommend it to our membership without reservation."
The Fine Furnishings Shows are owned and produced by KL Communications, Inc., which has over 20 years experience producing consumer and trade shows. Karla Little, President of KL Communications, conceived and launched the original show in Providence, Rhode Island in 1996.
