For the sixth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2012."

Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2012. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

Offering less fat and fewer calories than other chilly treats like custard and ice cream, frozen yogurt is fast becoming the dessert of choice for many. So this year we gave frozen yogurt its very own section in our annual Best Of Milwaukee Dining survey, and the winner was clear: Yo Mama cleaned up with over 40% of the vote.

Yo Mama has two locations, one at 1349 N. Wauwatosa Ave. and a new one in Brookfield at 2205 N. Calhoun Rd. A third location will open next March on Oakland Avenue in Shorewood.

It's clear to see why our readers voted the way they did – Yo Mama is all about quality, crafting its frozen yogurt with some of the highest live natural yogurt cultures (which aids in digestion and is good for overall health).

Customers can choose from over 35 toppings to complement the weekly flavors and Yo Mama also offers a selection of goodies from Simma's Bakery. Plus, calorie-counting is a cinch with their online nutrition sheet, and true devotees can also check out the Yo Mama blog.

Yo Mama's is also an environmentally-conscious business, boasting packaging, countertops and an outdoor deck all made from recycled material.

MyYoMy! Frozen Yogurt in the Third Ward was Yo Mama's closest competitor, coming in second place.
