We may just be getting into the fall season, but it's already time to think about next Summer. That Summer, to be specific.

On Monday morning, Summerfest announced that country legend Garth Brooks will kick off the festival on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. The country music star, known as the best-selling solo artist in U.S. history, will kick off the festival with a special opening night concert.

This marks Brooks' first performance at Summerfest and his first Milwaukee show in over a decade. The concert will set the stage for what organizers expect to be a memorable festival season.

"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Garth Brooks to Summerfest and cannot imagine a better way to kick off the festival in 2026," said Sarah Pancheri, president and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival Inc. via statement. "This show is not to be missed. We've seen countless iconic performances over nearly six decades, and this promises to be one of the most memorable yet!"

In addition to the show, fans are invited to join the official Summerfest Garth Brooks pre-party inside the South Gate of Henry Maier Festival Park. The pre-party will feature live entertainment, food, beverages and specialty cocktails. Summerfest officials have said additional details will be announced later.

Tickets for Garth Brooks at American Family Insurance Amphitheater will go on sale this Friday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. through the Summerfest website,  Ticketmaster, or in person at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Each ticket purchased includes complimentary admission to Summerfest 2026, valid on any day of the festival.

The announcement marks the first major act revealed for Summerfest 2026, with more performers expected to be announced in the coming months. Are you excited?
