Mike Goetz, a standout outfielder for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee who was drafted by the Brewers earlier this month, was selected first team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Goetz, who turns 22 in July, is the first Panthers player in the program's history to receive the honor.

The former Franklin High School star set school records this year in batting average (.493 -- best in the nation to date), on-base percentage (.579), hits (111), doubles (23), triples (six), total bases (155) and walks (41). He was the player of the year in the Horizon League and was chosen in the 25th round by the Brewers.
