Providing assistance for community residents suffering from mental illness, the Grand Avenue Club flips to the other side for one night and asks for your support.
Hosting their annual "Celebration of Work," Grand Avenue Club, 210 E. Michigan St., invites you to join them in honor of both their employees and supporting employers.
"Nationally, the unemployment rate for people with mental illness is 85%, the most of any disability. At Grand Avenue Club, we have a successful program working to ready people for work and partnering with quality employers," says Executive Director Rachel Foreman.
Program members from Derco Aerospace, Foley & Lardner and First Baptist Church of West Allis will speak at the event, giving insight into the experience of employee Club Members from Grand Avenue Club.
"In the last year, our employees earned $1 million in taxable revenue. It's a sizable contribution to our city," says Foreman.
Grand Avenue Club gives members the necessary tools to pursue work, paid employment, education, housing, as well as recreational and cultural opportunities in the community.
