In April, Miller High Life announced it was offering a free wedding to couples who had to postpone or cancel their big day because of the coronavirus outbreak.
As promised, the "Wedding at your Doorstep" campaign awarded three brides-and-grooms-to-be an officiant, photographer and $10,000 each to go towards a honeymoon fund, cancelled wedding costs and, of course, beer.
The winning couples were from Richland, Va., Long Island, N.Y., and Adam Benjamin and Mary-Kate Weiss from Milwaukee.
Milwaukeeans Mary-Kate and Adam discovered on their first date in 2016 that both of their grandfathers were employees at Miller Brewery, thus their fate was sealed.
High Life helped them tie the knot on June 6 in the presence of their closest family members and friends – social distancing style and via Zoom – including Adam’s grandfather, the former brewery employee.
The couple exchanged their vows on the steps of the Miller Inn.
"We wanted the couples to make sure their day was as close to what they envisioned as possible," says Lucy Bloxam, associate marketing manager for Miller High Life.
