Flat Out Friday will wave its green and checkered flags this weekend at Fiserv Forum – and so will the Hoan Bridge, digitally speaking, as the Milwaukee landmark will celebrate the return of the indoor motorcycle mania with a special LED light show this week.

Beginning Thursday and running through Saturday morning, the Hoan will glow with green, white and checkered lights to represent the flags of the motorcycle race and the racers themselves zipping around Fiserv Forum on Friday night.

The light show is the latest from Light the Hoan, glowing the Brew City bridge in different hues and patterns in honor of special occasions and tributes. Recent themed light shows have included red with a little green in honor of the Lunar New Year, pink and red for Valentine's Day, and blue for International Angelman Day. As for the race itself over the bridge in Downtown Milwaukee, Flat Out Friday will get set and go at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Fiserv Forum. The race itself is just part of the celebration, though, as the Mama Tried motorcycle show will park itself at The Rave/Eagles Club Ballroom on Saturday and Sunday this weekend while the official pre-party will get things revved up from 5-9 p.m. at the Harley-Davidson Museum on Thursday, Feb. 22.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
