Get your motor runnin', race fans. INDYCAR is returning to Milwaukee next year.
On Thursday, INDYCAR announced their schedule for the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season that includes a return to the Milwaukee Mile on Sunday, August 30th, 2026. It also includes a pair of races at Road America in Sheboygan.
The announcement marks the developmental series' continued presence at the historic oval track located in West Allis. The 2025 edition of the race saw a series record for on-track passes sold.
The race is part of a 17-race schedule for the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season, which includes a series record-tying four races in March and the addition of three new doubleheader weekends as INDYCAR's developmental series looks to even better prepare drivers and team personnel for the skills required to advance to NTT INDYCAR Series competition.
FOX Sports will provide broadcast coverage for every race, building on record-setting growth across the 2025 season. For the second consecutive season, all events in the United States will be featured on live television with broadcasts on either FOX Sports' FS1 or FS2. All practice and qualifying sessions will also be featured on those networks. The streaming service INDYCAR Live will continue to provide live coverage of all 17 INDY NXT races along with all practice and qualifying sessions for viewers outside the United States.
While IndyCar will run one race at Road America and two in Milwaukee, Indy NXT will do the inverse. There will be a doubleheader on June 20-21 at Road America and a single race at the Milwaukee Mile on August 30th.
The Road America doubleheader is one of five on the schedule this season.
The Milwaukee Mile has served as a proving ground for drivers advancing through the Road to Indy ladder system. The track, which is one of the oldest continuously operated motor speedways in the world, returned to the INDYCAR calendar in recent years after an extended absence.
Race details including ticket information and broadcast times for the Milwaukee Mile event will be announced at a later date, according to the INDY NXT website.
