For the fifth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2011."
In about a week and a half Kohler will be engulfed in the delicious scents of the annual Kohler Food and Wine Experience, which has taken place every year for more than a decade.
This year's event, which runs Oct. 20-23 and is co-sponsored by Bon Appétit Magazine, features appearances by well-known chefs Alexandra Guarnaschelli, Jacques Torres, Charlie Trotter and Andrew Zimmern, alongside many local and regional restaurateurs, wine experts and mixologists.
There will be wine, beer and spirit tastings and nearly two dozen cooking demos and seminars. The American Club will also host dozens of tasty events at which food, beer and wine experts from around the country will mingle with lucky foodies.
"We are thrilled to share this year's line-up of celebrity chefs, presenters and top wine experts in the industry," says Teo Zagroba, beverage manager for The American Club Resort.
"The variety of wine, spirits, cooking demos and culinary experiences to choose from allows our guests to learn more about pairing options in an enjoyable, interactive environment. We are extremely proud of the range of wine and spirits we are offering this year, giving people the chance to enjoy something new or revisit a favorite."
I was at Kohler recently and wrote about the experience. I'm planning to get back there next weekend for the Food and Wine Experience.
Event tickets start at $21 but many of the tastings and events are free. You can find the complete schedule, ticket information and hotel packages at KOHLERfoodandwine.net.
Events sell out quickly so hit the site soon and get ready for a sumptuous experience.
