The 2024 Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off is set to bring exciting college hockey action to Fiserv Forum on December 28th and 29th, with plenty of fans from across the country getting ready to converge on Milwaukee for the non-conference tournament.

This year marks the fourth annual edition of the tournament, which opens with two semifinal matchups on Saturday, December 28th. The Wisconsin Badgers will face Ferris State, while UConn squares off against Alaska Fairbanks in what promises to be a competitive first night.

Wisconsin, despite having a challenging start to their Big Ten season, has the advantage of playing close to home, with fans traveling in from Madison and Milwaukee hockey fans on their side. A tournament win on familiar ice could provide the momentum the Badgers need for a midseason turnaround. UConn, meanwhile, is just outside the top 20 in national rankings, with Ferris State and Alaska Fairbanks also fighting for recognition.

The tournament brings together teams from the Big Ten, Hockey East, the CCHA, and independent Alaska Fairbanks, ensuring a unique set of matchups and strong inter-divisional competition.

The winners of Saturday’s semifinals will meet in the championship game on Sunday, December 29th, while the losing teams will compete in the consolation game earlier that day. Wisconsin enters as the defending champion after their No. 6-ranked squad captured the 2023 title by defeating Air Force in the semifinal and Northeastern in the championship. Fans can expect another thrilling event as all four teams vie for this year’s trophy.

If you’ve never experienced Wisconsin Badgers hockey live at the Kohl Center, it is an atmosphere unlike any other. With the Badger band soundtracking the night, as well as Bucky Badger running around Fiserv Forum, they’ll look to bring that atmosphere to Milwaukee as they always do. Get ready to cheer and chant for the Badgers (or your college of choice) later this month.
