For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

If you read my last "quick bite" and then this one, you might think I eat a lot of salads. I wish I ate more of them.

But there are a few in town that I really like, and at the top of the list is the chicken cashew salad at La Delicatesse in the Grand Avenue Mall.

It’s not a very busy salad, and at $6.95, it’s a good portion for a good price. The salad is grilled chicken, cashews, snow peas and roasted red peppers on a bed of romaine and radicchio. The homemade sesame ginger vinaigrette is what takes it over the edge. It’s very savory and leaves me wanting more, which the very friendly owner always offers.

I also like this little cafe because it’s not in the food court, rather it’s just next to the skywalk where Stone Creek sits. That means it’s pretty quiet, and you can grab a little table and enjoy Stone Creeks’ free wi-fi while you eat.

I think I’ll go there right now, in fact.
