With Lakefront Brewery back up and running as normal, local lovebirds can rejoice, because the brewery is also bringing back its popular Valentine’s Day chapel.
In a nod to Vegas – but with lager – Lakefront, 1872 N. Commerce St., opens its private decorated space on Feb. 14 for affordable wedding ceremonies and vow renewals with a schedule that may suggest bottles running along the packaging line down in the brewery ... but with more pizzazz.
The Lakefront Chapel will be available for 15-minute slots from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. for a mere $20 on Monday, Feb. 14.
According to the brewery, “Each ceremony or vow renewal will last approximately 5 to 10 minutes and made special by their practiced, ordained, tour guide officiants. Special upgrades such as flowers from local flower company Feisty Flowers, professional photography from local artist Samer Ghani, personalized pint glasses, desserts, and even the option to reserve a table to dine at afterwards (drinks included) will be available when making your reservation.”
Reservations are available now (at the link below), but will close at midnight on Monday, Feb. 7.
For safety, group sizes are limited, there are plexiglass dividers and masks are required.
If you’re looking for something even less expensive – namely free – and more publicly festive. Lakefront founder and owner Russ Klisch will perform two free mass vow renewals – at noon and 6 p.m.
“Couples looking to stop by can expect to do so with a free beer in hand. Masks required unless actively drinking.”

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he lived until he was 17, Bobby received his BA-Mass Communications from UWM in 1989 and has lived in Walker's Point, Bay View, Enderis Park, South Milwaukee and on the East Side.
He has published three non-fiction books in Italy – including one about an event in Milwaukee history, which was published in the U.S. in autumn 2010. Four more books, all about Milwaukee, have been published by The History Press.
With his most recent band, The Yell Leaders, Bobby released four LPs and had a songs featured in episodes of TV's "Party of Five" and "Dawson's Creek," and films in Japan, South America and the U.S. The Yell Leaders were named the best unsigned band in their region by VH-1 as part of its Rock Across America 1998 Tour. Most recently, the band contributed tracks to a UK vinyl/CD tribute to the Redskins and collaborated on a track with Italian novelist Enrico Remmert.
He's produced three installments of the "OMCD" series of local music compilations for OnMilwaukee.com and in 2007 produced a CD of Italian music and poetry.
In 2005, he was awarded the City of Asti's (Italy) Journalism Prize for his work focusing on that area. He has also won awards from the Milwaukee Press Club.
He has be heard on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee talking about his "Urban Spelunking" series of stories, in that station's most popular podcast.
