Today, Latino Arts, Inc. announced its fall 2011 schedule.
The line-up includes musical performances by bilingual band Moona Luna on Thursday Nov. 3 at 10:30 a.m. and Friday, Nov. 4 at 10:30 a.m.
Pistolera, an accordion-driven Mexican folk band, plays on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Latin jazz-oriented Pedrito Martinez Quartet performs Thursday, Dec. 1 at 10:30 a.m. and Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
All performances are in the Latino Arts Auditorium, 1028 S. 9th St.
Ticket prices for evening performances are $25. Seniors (60+) are $20, full-time students are $15 or $8 per student in groups of 10 or more. Ticket prices for student matinee performances are $12 for adults and seniors; $8 fir students and kids, 3 and older.
The center will also host art exhibitions by Cuban artist Carlos Estévez from Sept. 16 to Oct. 14, Pamela Diaz Martinez from Dec. 2 to March 30, 2012 and a Dia de los Muertos ofrendas exhibition from Oct. 28 to Nov. 18.
Exhibitions in the Latino Arts Gallery are open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The suggested donation is $1.
There will also be three special events this fall.
Noche de Gala is Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. and will feature dance, art and music by The Spanglish Band, Triple Play and more. Tickets are $50.
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. Carlos Estévez will host "The experience of an artist in Cuba." This event is free.
And finally, on Thursday, Nov. 10. at 6 p.m. the group will offer a free lecture, "History and traditions of Day of the Dead."
