In 2002, Lauryn Hill came into town with The Roots and Outkast for the Smokin' Grooves Tour – and that Marcus Amphitheater show was the last time Milwaukee saw the record-breaking R&B artist.
Until this morning.
Today, the Riverside Theater announced that Lauryn Hill will perform in Milwaukee for the first time in 15 years on Saturday, Feb. 4, as a part of The MLH Caravan: A Diaspora Calling! tour.
The hip-hop icon originally started the tour as a charity festival in Brooklyn – featuring performers such as Stephen "Ragga" Marley, Stonebwoy, Machel Montano and others – in the hopes of celebrating unity and the many cultural and artistic facets of the African diaspora. That expanded into the The MLH Caravan, which took the show on tour beginning this past August.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show (with the doors opening at 7 p.m.) will go on sale beginning Friday, Oct. 21 at noon, with reserved seating tickets ranging from $59.50 to $75 and $95. For more information on the show and tickets, visit The Pabst/Riverside's website.
