Milwaukee’s own The Wolf on Broadway, 600 N. Broadway, is among 25 spots chosen for the “Midwest Living” Best of the Midwest Travel Awards which highlight the buzziest openings of the past year in five categories: lodging, arts and culture, outdoors, family and food and drink.

“At this new concept from the owners of Uncle Wolfie’s Breakfast Tavern, sunlight melts like warm butter over cane-back chairs, soft peach banquettes and wicker pendant lights— an aesthetic advertised as Paris-meets-West Coast, which sounds absurd except they nailed it,” notes the article, which also highlights the global flavors on the menu.

The Wolf on Broadway, which opened Downtown last November, is backed by a team that includes General Manager Nick Witte, Bar Manager Erik Wickman and Executive Chef Kristen Schwab.

The restaurant’s ever-changing menu, which Schwab calls “Cute and craveable,” guests will find a variety of dishes including delights like butter chicken wings; rendang puffs and chili crisp fish sandwiches along with entrees like grilled steak with gochugang and a pork chop with Sulawesi coconut cream. In addition to The Wolf on Broadway, one other Wisconsin venue is listed: St. James Social in Bayfield, Wisconsin also gets a mention for its Lake Superior views and proximity to the Apostle Islands.
