Summer festival season is just about upon us – and the start date is in sight with the announcement of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's 175th anniversary celebration, hosted in Cathedral Square from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

The event, dubbed 175 Alive, will begin at Pere Marquette Park with a performance from the Marquette University gospel choir, as well as a commemoration of Bishop John Henni's landfall in Milwaukee 175 years from Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki – complete with Listecki arriving at the event by boat – and Marquette University president Dr. Michael Lovell.

After a procession down Kilbourn Avenue, the festivities will continue at Cathedral Square Park and the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist with a celebratory mass, as well as food trucks, the Sprecher Traveling Beer Garden, a performance from polka band Squeezettes, games and more. 

Here's the schedule of events for 175 Alive:

• 9:30 a.m.: MU gospel choir performance and commemoration of Bishop Henni from Archbishop Listecki and Dr. Lovell at Pere Marquette Park
• 10:20 a.m.: Procession down Kilbourne Avenue to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist
• 11 a.m.: Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist
• 11:30 a.m.: Food trucks and the traveling beer garden open until the festival ends at 4 p.m.
• 12:15 p.m.: Opening prayer and remarks from Archbishop Listecki
• 12:30 p.m.: Cathedral tours until 3:30 p.m., as well as yard games and performances from Squeezettes until close
• 1-3 p.m.: Three-on-three youth basketball tournament
