Whether it's in regards to age or the unpredictable Wisconsin weather, it's never too late to learn the game of golf. While all lessons at any course are tailored around the individual, Milwaukee County Parks Golf Services Manager Chet Hendrickson notes perhaps the best way for adult to young adult beginners to learn is in a group setting.

"In the fall and spring, we offer the Get Golf Ready series where we work with a group of people who have limited golf experience," he said. "In the five lesson series, we go through everything from holding the club to hitting drivers. The main goal is to get people ready to go out on a course on their own."

The fall edition of Get Golf Ready will be held at Whitnall Park Golf Course and runs from Sept. 4 through Oct. 2.

Lessons are available at all courses for all ages as late into the season as possible, so long as the weather allows. For more information about golfing in Wisconsin, be sure to check out OnMilwaukee’s Milwaukee Golf Guide.
