Most of the area's drive-in movie theaters have gone into hibernation for the season – but Milwaukee Recreation is keeping movies under the stars a little longer with a fall edition of its Drive-In Movie Day on Saturday, Oct. 15.
Hitting the big screen outside MPS Central Services, 5225 W. Vliet St., Milwaukee Recreation's second drive-in screening of the year will show two films perfect both for the whole family and for spooky season: "The Addams Family 2" at 4 p.m., followed by "Coco" at 6 p.m. Like any proper movie, popcorn will be provided, along with water – but families are also invited to bring their own snacks for the showings.
If it rains that day, the drive-in will be moved to Saturday, Oct. 22.
"We are excited to host a fall edition of our popular Family Drive-In Movie Night," said Lauren Lopez, Recreation Manager, in a release. "This is such a wonderful time of year so we hope that folks will join us for an evening of great movies and fun with family and friends."
Tickets for the drive-in cost $20 per vehicle, per movie, with families able to choose to attend the entire double feature, or choose just one of the two feature presentations. As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
