The Champ Car World Series announced its schedule for 2007 today and it bypasses The Milwaukee Mile for the first time since the series' inception 27 years ago. Champ Car will conduct a race Aug. 12 at Road America in Elkhart Lake.

"We appreciate the support Champ Car officials and teams have provided to us and our loyal fans," Milwaukee Mile President and CEO Andy Randall said in a statement. "We continue to dialogue with Champ Car President Steve Johnson and will certainly entertain the opportunity to host a Champ Car event that would be amenable to both the series and The Milwaukee Mile in the future.

"We encourage Wisconsin Champ Car fans to support their return to Road America in Elkhart Lake this coming season."

The Milwaukee Mile will release its schedule soon.
